This map is for exploring who has voted early, not an exact count. It is built from NC State Board of
Elections absentee files for 2026, 2024 and 2022, which are not always consistent. NC posts new files once
a day, so refreshing more often will not change the numbers.
Each county is colored by how far its D−R margin among early ballots has moved since the baseline you
pick. "Same point" compares against ballots the baseline year had back by the same number of days before
Election Day; "final" compares against every early ballot that year.
"I" is every voter not registered D or R. The I split assigns each county's I ballots to R and D in that
county's R:D ratio for the same ballots, then sums the counties. It is a heuristic, not a measurement.
Filters check against each voter's record. Several boxes in one group include any of them. Not every group
adds up to 100%, because many voters leave demographics blank, so "all boxes checked" differs from "none
checked".
All the ballot data is loaded into your browser, so the page is slow to start.
