How It Works
Unlike the other tool, this tool is designed for browsing. It's not perfect, but it lets you see what's going on directly.
Why you should use it
There are 773,000 charities this site is tracking with 1,300,000 grants and 100,000 grants from the USG. If 5% of them are corrupt, that's still 35,000 to research. We need to get a little barn raising here if we're going to reclaim our country, only you know the suspect charities in your area. So you can start at any charity you can find, and then explore where are they getting their money, and who are they giving their money to? If you know the EIN, start there. If you don't you can try the keyword search. Find a suspicious set? Post the URL to X under #DRBadNGOs usting the button in the upper left. Questions/Suggestions/feedback? Verified can DM @GrumpyTechBro.
We show NGOs and the money that flows between them. Money comes in from the left, goes out to the right. The NGOs are drawn with trapezoids so the left side is proporitional to the incoming grants while the right side is proportional to the grants going out to other NGOs, think of them like funnels. US Government is treated as the ultimate donor. You can select a preset to add known interesting NGOs. Money flows are scaled so large flows don't dwarf small ones, you can adjust scaling up or down with the buttons to the left of the zoom controls. Octogons (aka stop sign) are NGOs that don't have any outflows to other NGOs, presumably spend it all. Dashed octagons are name-only (no EIN on the 990, or grants below this dollar cut). Click a node to focus it (this org and its up/down only). Hats still expand 3 more on that side; double-click expands both sides. Alt-click opens the control panel. The $10M / $1M / All notches each load a full new set (another wait). $10M ships with the site; $1M and All download from grumpytechbro.com. Preset add seeds several nodes (Uniparty); flip the switch to replace. Click mode sits above circular links: pointing hand (default) isolates that org, expand-arrows frames it ± one hop (camera only), plus expands hops and keeps the graph, magnifying glass opens the inspector. Deeper bands load from leftover See more in that drawer. Drag pans. Wheel zooms. Shift-drag box-zooms. Shift-click hides a node.
In the control panel:
- Only This focuses the graph on that org. Remove hides just that NGO.
- 🐷 will show all nodes that trace from that node back to the US Government.
- Drag to pan
- Wheel to zoom
- Shift-drag box-zooms a region
- Click mode: Focus / Zoom / Expand / Remove / Inspect
- Shift-click a node hides it
